Second wave in Germany - These five projects shape the future

Jury awards five groundbreaking projects as part of the initiative #beyondcrisis - time for new solutions/media partner STRÖER provides 500.000 Euro advertising budget for Germany-wide attention.

Nearly 200 ideas, concepts and new business models have been submitted to the initiators since the launch of the initiative #beyondcrisis - Time for New Solutions on April 1, 2020. Out of all submissions, an eight-member expert jury awarded five groundbreaking projects in a digital meeting. These projects show in a special way that crises in Germany always present opportunities for new developments. Under the chairmanship of Thomas Heilmann, MdB, the following projects received awards.

Further members of the expert committee are Patricia Schlesinger (Director-General of rbb), Iris Bethge Krauß (Managing Director of the Federal Association of Public Banks in Germany, VÖB), Alexander Stotz (COO Ströer Deutschland GmbH), Marco Witte (Witte Project Management), Sascha Wolf (AusserGewöhnlich Berlin), Sven Oswald (CandyStorm PR) and Ute Weiland (Germany - Land of Ideas). Criteria for the final selection were among others innovative business models, which were created during the crisis but will continue to exist for the time after it, as well as active contributions to strengthen cohesion in society.

"Who, if not us, and when, if not now, we asked ourselves at the outbreak of the crisis and, together with committed partners, launched the #beyondcrisis initiative. And the feedback has proven us right: 200 inspiring projects, concepts and ideas have reached us. The five award-winning projects stand pars pro toto for Germany's ability to meet crises with creativity and courage," says Ute Weiland, Managing Director of Germany - Land of Ideas and co-initiator of #beyondcrisis.

Media partner Ströer ensures nationwide attention

A big gain for the initiative: With Ströer Media Deutschland GmbH, Germany's largest outdoor advertiser could be won to support the accompanying campaign. Headlined "Out of the crisis, ready, go!", the company has already supported the call for participation throughout Germany on all its digital presences with an advertising budget of 500,000 euros. Now the five award-winning projects, each with a budget of 100,000 euros, are being presented to the German public.

"This crisis affects all of us and therefore we've been convinced supporters of the #beyondcrisis initiative from the very beginning. The five award-winning projects embody in particular the inventiveness and the spirit of optimism in this country, so we are pleased to support these projects with high visibility", says Alexander Stotz, CEO of Ströer Media Deutschland GmbH.
