In November 2008, we installed out fully automatic public toilet system WC Tronic 402 in Dresden, as the first location worldwide, and presented it to the city and its citizens. The high-tech product has already won three awards. In 2008, the toilet system received the universal design award and won the iF Design Award in 2006. Out fully automatic toilet WC Tronic 402 was developed using new technology based on the careful evaluation of actual user needs. Vacuum technology is used to reduce the required water volume. The floors are fully cleaned using tried and tested Kärcher technology.
A user survey has shown that the urinal is by far the most used facility. So the WC Tronic provides two separate rooms for toilet and urinal. This increases the capacity, compared to similar products, and improves hygiene at the same time. Furthermore, our WC Tronic was able to convince visitors at the World Toilet Summit, which took place in New Delhi at the end of 2007, organised by the SULABH International Social Service Organisation (WTO). The booming Indian economy has great potential for advertising-refinanced street furniture. Due to the still very unsatisfactory plumbing and sanitary conditions, there is a particularly big market for automatic public toilets.
