The Ströer Group is an international marketer of Out-of-Home Media. As such, Ströer is a specialist in all forms of advertising used outside the home – from the traditional billboard and Street Furniture to Transport Media and Electronic Media.

Following the acquisition of DSM Deutsche Städte Medien GmbH at the beginning of 2004 and the acquisition of Deutsche Eisenbahn-Reklame (DERG) in 2005 we were able to increase our portfolio to round about 270,000 advertising displays. More than 600 municipal partners in Germany, Turkey and Poland rely on and appreciate the services of the Ströer Group. Add to this a large number of private contracts. With this mix of installations on municipal and private property, we have laid a firm foundation for long-term successful marketing.

The Ströer Group has more than 1,500 employees at home and abroad, and sells advertising displays in twelve countries. In our core market, Germany, we are with round about 230,000 advertising faces not only the largest supplier of Out-of-Home Media, but also a large media group. In the Out-of-Home market in Turkey we are together with our joint venture partner Akademi Reklam also the leading Out-of-Home Media advertising company. In Poland Ströer is the number 2.

The advertising media and street furniture offered by Ströer are innovative and design-oriented. They make for unique, yet unobtrusive products which fit seamlessly into the urban landscape and set standards in public design. In the past, our product design lines have been presented with the renowned iF Design award from the International Design Forum Hanover seven times, one of the most esteemed distinctions in public design in the world. In 2006 we were also awarded with the red dot design award two times.

In our position as the largest supplier of Out-of-Home Media in Germany (with round about 230,000 advertising faces), we continue to drive type marketing in conjunction with the German Association of Outdoor Advertising (FAW). With the aim of increasing the Out-of-Home Media’s share of overall advertising expenditure, in 2004 we founded the national marketing company Ströer Sales & Services GmbH and Key Account Management, which, alongside specialists and advertising and media agencies consults national advertisers. We have also repositioned ourselves in the regions: Under the name of Ströer Deutsche Städte Medien GmbH, 38 branches and offices in eight regions take care of the needs of all the lokal and regional customers.

The outdoor advertising market in Germany is currently experiencing a phase of consolidation and, with an overall market share of approx. 3-4.7% (depending on statistics), still holds plenty of potential for development. In countries like Great Britain, Switzerland and France in which the market is already consolidated, the market share held by Out-of-Home Media is much higher, at 9% and 14%. A substantially higher number of the top 200 spenders in these countries invest more than 50% of their advertising budget in Out-of-Home Media. Tapping this expenditure in the German market translates to definite growth potential for Out-of-Home Media.
